Scouting Trip: Marseille and Beziers

View of dunes near Beziers, France

We visited Marseille to watch one of Laura's favorite bands at a punk rock club, The Molotov. That necessitated staying in Marseille which is not great. Not terrible, but not great. Unless you are into graffiti, trash, and dog pooh. And organized crime. Though it did have Reuben's second favorite bar in France, Le Campagne. And we got to speak with Laura's heroes the Teenage Bottle Rockets.

On the way to Beziers we stopped at an outlet mall (how American) and loaded up on Birkenstock and Creuset products.

Afterwards, we spent a few days in Beziers (the s is silent) which was much nicer. Unfortunately, it was the two hottest days in its existence. So, not great for exploring. The first evening we experienced an unique dining experience at Maison Carne. There was one item on the menu - a Fred Flintstone steak (sharable) with fries, salad, and bread. You could choose your beverage and we chose wine by the centimeter (which is a great concept).

The next day we tried to beat the heat by walking on the shady side of the street, visiting the flower market, and going to a very nice park. We also went to the beach that evening which was pleasant.

So, enjoy the photos. Thirteen of them are Laura's. Can you guess which ones?
